  • Free early education and childcare.

    Did you know that all 3 and 4 year olds and some 2 year olds are entitled to a certain amount of free early education and childcare

    Additionally, from April 2017 the government are increasing the number of hours free childcare to eligible working parents of three and four year olds. You could benefit from having up to 30 hours of free childcare.

    Charnwood Sure Start Children's Centre is running some free sessions to help your child get ready for school over the summer holiday. 

    Each session will provide parents and children with fun activities and Information to help prepare for starting school.

  • Term Dates Consultation¬†

    Leicestershire County Council are currently consulting and would like to hear your views on three suggested options for school term time and holiday dates from autumn 2019 to summer 2022.

    A copy of the consultation document is attached below for your reference, and can also be found on the council’s website by clicking here.

    As an academy school we generally follow the same term time pattern as set by the local authority, and Church Hill Infant School have submitted a response to the local authority that we would like them to follow Option 2, which is the same as the Leicester City Council pattern for term and holiday dates.

    We would like to urge all our parents and carers to also respond to the consultation, you can respond online here

    The consultation runs for eight weeks from Monday 5 February until Monday 2 April 2018.

    Our local term dates for 2019 onwards will be published after the consultation period has closed and once the local authority have confirmed the outcome.

  • School Open- 2nd March

    Friday 2nd March 

    School is OPEN today, please take extra care on your journey and try to park away from Church Hill Road to keep the entrances to both schools clear and safe for our children.

    Closure Update - 3pm - 1st March 

    We are pleased to report that Severn Trent Water have completed the necessary repairs and our water supply is slowly returning.  Therefore school will be open  tomorrow morning (Friday 2nd March) as usual. 

    Don't forget to come in your World Book Day costumes, however please also ensure children are well dressed for the cold weather. 

    Parents evening tonight remains cancelled - We will provide you with a new date as soon as possible.

    Closure Update - 1st March  - 11.30am

    We have been informed by Severn Trent Water that the whole of the LE4 Thurmaston area has no water supply due to contractor damage. 

    School remains closed for the rest of today (Thursday 1st March) and parents evening tonight has been cancelled. We will notify you with a new date for parents evening as soon as possible. 

    We anticipate that school should be open tomorrow (Friday 2nd March) if repairs are complete and water supplies return.  Please keep an eye on our website for further updates.

    1st March - 10.15am

    Due to frozen pipes we have no water in school. Therefore we are required to close school at short notice.  Please arrange to collect your child from their classroom as soon as possible. 

    The children in Miss Allen's class and some in Miss Kirby's class who are on the trip will be returned to school from their trip at approximately 12 noon.
